North East Derbyshire District Council takes equality seriously.
We want to create a district where people can live work and visit without prejudice or discrimination. We want the services and facilities in our district to be accessible to all and we feel this on line access guide is one of the tools we can use to help us achieve this.
In our Disability Equality scheme we made a commitment to raise disability and awareness in the community through our links with local businesses and improve the services offered and we believe we can start this process through this online access service.
North East Derbyshire offers a wide range of businesses, venues and facilities which are displayed on the DisabledGo web site as being access friendly. The guide has been produced by DisabledGo on behalf of North East Derbyshire District Council with the assistance of Marks and Spencer and has involved wide consultation with many local people with disabilities.
We hope it will make a difference to the lives of people with disabilities by allowing them to make informed decisions about the services they use and the places they visit.
